Please notice these three things:
1) Adam's lame elbow to Neil's head and how it seemingly knocks him unconscious or kills him.
2) The expressions on John's face after Adam gives him a 'kick' which most likely tickled John rather than hurt him.
3) Dan's killer smile when the cigarette is taken from him.
