I believe I've found something out. Females love the countdowns. Sure, you'll have the occasional guy that has his msn updated saying " n days till the expansion pack comes out" but most of the time I think you'll find the ladies far more concerned about upcoming dates. Just a thought.
As per usual with the blogging, stuff needs to be done on my end. I've got a final push ahead of me that seems strangely blurred with the faint yet bass-filled knocking of exams and late assignments. Although my exam schedule does seem a bit hectic, stressful if you will, I will be home a bit earlier because of it. For that I'm joyful.
It has snowed a fair amount in BC. It has not snowed here yet.
This past fall, 'Deems got a new chaplain in the man of Syd Helima. I had the chance to talk to this man briefly about the Dutch bingo that we shared and was so prevalent about campus. We also got to talking about the Holy Spirit. On this I will briefly elaborate.
I think T-Dub has an intro religion class in which the question of "Holy Spirit: God or Chemical High" is brought up. This just addresses if our "spiritual highs" are the doings of God, or rather just endorphins being released into our blood stream. T-dubers, correct me if I'm wrong. Whatever the case, when I asked Syd about the Christian highs and lows that we often face (I also asked about his take on Reformers having lowers highs, and shallower lows while Petacostal types are vise versa) and his response was that we far to often connect the Holy Spirit with our feelings. This is not to say that the Holy Spirit doesn't work though our feelings, but instead that we're limiting him to only that "warm fuzzy" feeling that we sometimes experience. Let's face it; if our entire Christian goal was to fall backwards, bawl our eyes out and speak in tongues we wouldn't see a whole lot of evangelism. Back to the topic. Syd said that the Holy Spirit works in every part of us. Whether that be in our intelligence, our memories, our feelings, health, wisdom, etc. A lot of the time when the Holy Spirit is working, we're not giving him a high five in the process, but instead we look back and see how events have unfolded and say "How did I get through that" or "Hmm, wonder why I said that to that person" and the like. That is all for this thought. Mange it.
I read Life of Pi this past week. I enjoyed it. I think I'll recommend it later.
We set up a Christmas tree in our living room. Decorated it. Pretty. Neat. It does add a lot to the dorm, and I think that we're keeping the room neater as not to offend the tree and its beauty. We should really put a tree in the bathroom.
You guys should read Life of Pi. Good book.

Magical
Our dorm got a few new things this week. I'll start with the lesser of the two. Jared and I in all our nerdum camped outside of video game store to buy the new Nintendo system. Just to clarify, I was only there for moral support... and the Wii is fantastic.
Now for the greater of the two. We also got a Magic Bullet. You know one of those crappy blender things you've seen the infomercial on when you watch TV on Sunday afternoon? Well, it's fantastic. We use it primarily for smoothies because the bullets come in "cup form" as well. So tasty. Stewart, I'm sorry for making fun of you for getting the Miracle Blade, I'm sure it's all it's cut out to be.
That is all.

Americans Have No Honour
Long blog, brace yourself.
So, Americans have no honour. However, they do have honor. Ha! I've been wanting to write a blog for a while and I originally wanted to do it on the subject of funny spelling differences, but as time went by that notion got progressively less humourous. Flargen. Granted, just so I can voice my opinion, I think the Canadian spelling of "centre" is wack. I mean, who was the quack that decided to screw that one up. Frick, I still spell it center, and believe me, I'm very patriotic about putting my "u's" where they're supposed to go. Anyways, enough with that.
Wait, no, not yet. One more thing that I wanted to post about that I thought was funny at the time was the thought about emailing yourself from the past. Pretty much you email to the future then read it a day after. When actually written down, it seems pretty stupid, but Kirk and I sure got a kick out of it. Seriously, we were laughing for 10 minutes straight (almost) while we were at a girls dorm for dinner. Kind of weird, but still epic.
I'm feeling "blarrg" right now. That deep feeling in ones stomach where your not sure if you want to eat sugary things, go for a run or just sit on your ass and skip class. It's a very peculiar feeling, maybe a glorified lethargic could describe it. Whatever the case, my thought has concluded that writing will get me out of this lazy rut and into a progressive mode. Poops.
Alright, now it is time to pull out some musing from my fairy vault that contains all my sparks of originality.
I have come to realize that there are a few types of people or things that make me antisocial. When I say "antisocial" I mean that I feel inclined to not speak, make eye contact, and generally retreat, possibly to the security of a hoodie over my head. It can be good or bad, depends how you look at it. The first situation, which is long past, is to retreat to the game where I spent a good part of my past two years. Here, I was anti-social, even though I pleaded with others that it is in fact a social game. Needless to say, none of the bonny lads and lasses that I played with have called me up for a coffee or a Slovakian pastry. The second situation is where there is a person in a group outside of class that feels inclined to lead all the conversation of the group, almost becoming a dictator of the relaxing communication that we so enjoy outside of our demanded answers in the class room setting. These people talk excessively, very loud, and laugh at stupid things that make you want to hit them across the side of the head with a large pacific salmon or perhaps a tuna fish. I’ve only come across of few of these this past year, and in one instance I wasn’t even in the group this guy was commanding. To have a fish at that time…wow, that would be fantastic. The third type of people, which could fit under the category of the above mentioned, are those people who prod for information about your life with no real basis for doing so. Most of the time the people barely know you, or rather, know someone who knows you, which obviously (sarcasm?) gives them reason to know all about you.
I could also be antisocial because I'm tired.
So, there you are. Without even being the third type of person, I told you about myself. Wow, all you have to do is listen, or read, I guess.
As a side note, these three categories have no person(s) in particular, so if you're like, "Man-o-boy-howdy, I hope that wasn't directed at me," please, don't worry. They're not you, just observations of people I've met in the past.
I’m going to email myself now.
Peace.

Celebrate
Back in the shadows of my brain there lays a longing to hear a certain song. But, that song's title could to come to mind. I knew the general tune of the song, but not really the lyrics, and I knew it was performed by Dave Matthews Band. Well, that song was named Two Step. One mystery of many solved for today.
I was thinking about what a memory was. First, we can say that it is a mental impression retained. One thing I never really thought about was the biological aspect of a memory. Granted, I still know nothing about it in this way, but just thinking about it is kind of neat. A memory is most likely (not too sure, but fairly certain) just a bunch of chemicals stored in a sequence in some part of your brain. Now, maybe I should say "just" because even the thought of recording events that ones experienced by a mean of various chemicals is quite amazing. One of the coolest things about them, though, is that they're like a bank. You need a memory, you go and find it then reflect, smile, cry, or laugh about it. Like that time when...., and you did..., and we.... it's all unique for each person. Every perspective of a certain event of the past has been recorded in some way by someone’s body. That just blows me away. Incredible.
And then there are things that haven’t happened but that your are looking forward to. I suppose its the memory of things to come. For instance, one could be looking forward to going to a hockey game, reading a book, or possibly going to Florida with ones dorm for reading break. Whether or not the chemical resemblance of these two things is similar or fairly different is up for grabs, but whatever the case, science is neat.
And for controversy's sake...............science can explain everything!

405 and Other Thoughts
First of all, hello all. I hope you're all in good spirits with time available in your schedules to relax, hang with your family and watch a sweet Canucks game.
So I went to see a bitching band in the form of Death Cab on Monday evening. Despite the fact that it was a tad bit stressful getting there, it turned out fantabular. We took the "Go Train" to Toronto and walked to the venue from the station. Sexy venue. Well, maybe sexy, it all depends where you were in the actually hall, but from my point of view, quite sexy. We were three rows from the front and in the center. Quite bitching. Death Cab opened with 405, which I didn't think they would bust out. It was great. I was smiling the entire concert. Highlights involve Photobooth, Crooked Teeth and I Will Follow You into the Dark. Check out Tim's blog or Robyn's blog for pics and maybe some more in-depth description on how magnificently awesome it was. Below is Big Ben playing Transatlantisism.
As for me, I'm doing well. I completed Ocarina of Time the other day. That needed to be done. If I had not beaten the game, I would have been distracted from work that needed to be done. You can see how it was necessary. I really don't know what else to say, I'll get inspiration later and write a neat post for you guys, but for the time, peace.
